The Dark Healer, Book 7

As an editor, I went into 'The Dark Healer' with tempered expectations, but was blown away by the sheer audacity and complexity of Alex Toxic's vision. Christopher P. Brown's narration is a huge part of the book's appeal – his deep, resonant voice brings the right amount of gravitas and menace to the narrative, and he deftly navigates the book's many twists and turns without ever losing traction. However, I did feel that the pacing occasionally flags, particularly in the latter half of the book, where some of the plot threads feel over-extended or under-developed. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise exceptional audiobook that will appeal to fans of authors like Clive Barker or Poppy Z. Brite.
