I went into *The Demon Prince* expecting another tired paranormal romance, but Hamm’s sharp subversion of demon tropes had me hooked from the first chapter. Gluttony isn’t just a charming villain—he’s a walking contradiction, a creature of insatiable appetite who’s both terrifying and oddly relatable. The romance between him and his human counterpart, Violet, is electric, charged with danger and a slow-burn tension that lingers long after the final chapter. My only critique? Some of the side characters, while vividly written, occasionally overshadow the central romance, making it feel like the world is too vast for its own good. Narration-wise, Lia Holland is a revelation as Gluttony—her voice drips with mischief and menace, and she sells the character’s internal conflict brilliantly. Logan McAllister’s performance is solid, though I wish a few of the supporting voices had more distinct vocal textures to avoid confusion in crowded scenes. The production is top-notch, with no audible glitches or volume inconsistencies, and the pacing keeps the story moving at a clip that never feels rushed. If you’re looking for a romance that’s as darkly funny as it is sensual, this is a standout listen—but be warned, Gluttony’s hunger is contagious.
