The Edens Series

I’ll admit: I side-eyed the idea of a *six-book* romance series about siblings finding love in the same podunk town. But *The Edens Series* won me over by making Montana feel like a living, breathing entity—right down to the way the narrators pronounce ‘Missoula’ with the casual familiarity of locals. The full-cast approach is a masterstroke, especially in books like *Gypsy King*, where Cindy Kay’s performance as the heroine’s snarky best friend steals scenes, or *Wild Heart*, where Lance Greenfield’s growl as the brooding ranch hand had me rewinding just to hear him say ‘darlin’’ again. The production quality is top-tier, with seamless transitions between POVs and ambient touches (a crackling campfire here, a distant thunderstorm there) that ground the story in its setting. That said, this isn’t a flawless listen. Perry’s pacing can be *uneven*—some books (*Copper Queen*, I’m looking at you) drag in the middle with repetitive internal angst, while others (*Tin Gypsy*) race through major plot points like a pickup truck on black ice. And while the narrators are generally excellent, Teddy Hamilton’s delivery in *Wild Heart* occasionally veers into over-enunciated territory, making the hero sound more like a Shakespearean actor than a rough-around-the-edges cowboy. Still, the series’ strengths far outweigh its stumbles. The Edens’ dynamics—whether they’re throwing punches or covering for each other’s lies—are addictive, and the way the audiobook leans into the *sensory* details (the scent of pine, the grind of a wrench against metal) makes this more than just a romance. It’s an *experience*. Bring a box of tissues and a healthy tolerance for groveling—you’ll need both.
