The Evolutionist

I devoured 'The Evolutionist' in a few sittings, drawn in by Schneider's captivating narration and Mason's unflinching storytelling. The pacing is deliberate, mirroring Stacy's methodical actions in her dreams, which creates a sense of growing unease. One of the standout aspects is how the narrative seamlessly shifts between Stacy's waking and dreaming worlds, making it difficult to discern reality from fantasy. My only critique is that some of the supporting characters feel underdeveloped, and at times, the narrative's focus on Stacy's inner world makes the external plot feel a bit predictable. Still, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise gripping audiobook that will appeal to fans of psychological horror.
