I've listened to my fair share of horror audiobooks, but 'The Haunting of Hill House' stands out in a league of its own. Bernadette Dunne's narration is nothing short of exceptional. She has this way of making every word drip with tension, like she's slowly turning up the volume on a horror movie score. The story itself is a slow burn, but it's worth the wait. Jackson's writing is so rich and atmospheric, it's like she's painting pictures with words. The pacing is deliberate, building up to a climax that's as satisfying as it is terrifying. My only critique? The ending felt a tad abrupt, but it's a small price to pay for an otherwise outstanding listen.
