I was immediately drawn into 'The Holly Village Murders' by its atmospheric opening, with Blagden's narration painting a vivid picture of a London Christmas. The story is a delightful puzzle, with red herrings aplenty, and I found myself guessing until the very end. Blagden's performance is a highlight - he brings each character to life with a distinct voice and mannerism, making it easy to follow the story's many threads. The production is also noteworthy, with sound effects used sparingly but effectively to enhance the listening experience. My only critique is that the pacing could have been tighter in the middle, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent audiobook.
