Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

I've always been fascinated by the English language, but The Horologicon took my love for words to a whole new level. Don Hagen's narration was the perfect complement to Mark Forsyth's witty and engaging writing. His warm and amiable tone made me feel as if I were having a conversation with a friend about the quirks and oddities of the English language. The pacing was just right, with Hagen's clear enunciation and pauses at the perfect moments allowing me to absorb the wealth of information and humor packed into each chapter. While I enjoyed the book's historical context and linguistic depth, I did find some of the examples a bit too obscure for my taste. But overall, The Horologicon was a delightful and enlightening listen that I would highly recommend to anyone with an appreciation for the English language's beauty and complexity.
