Joshua Bangle’s narration is the secret weapon here, turning what could’ve been a messy, tonally volatile story into a cohesive, wildly entertaining ride. Bangle nails the comedic timing, especially during Zilch’s smug, nasally taunts, but he also sells the quieter moments of vulnerability when Whit’s facade cracks. The production is clean, with subtle sound design that enhances the absurdity without overpowering the narration. That said, the first act drags a bit as Whit’s backstory is hashed out; it’s necessary, but the pacing could’ve used a firmer hand to keep the momentum from sagging.
