Don Hagen’s narration is a standout. His voice has a warm, professor-next-door quality that makes even the wonkiest topics (looking at you, comparative advantage) feel accessible. That said, the audiobook isn’t perfect: The transitions between historical examples and modern applications can feel abrupt at times, and Hagen’s cadence occasionally flattens during data-heavy sections—though that’s more a script issue than a performance flaw. Still, the production is clean, with no distracting edits or volume spikes. If you’ve ever zoned out during a *Planet Money* episode but wished you hadn’t, this is your redemption. It’s the rare economics book that’s as useful for a curious novice as it is for someone who wants to argue smarter at dinner parties.
