The Killing Forest

Christine Lakin’s narration is nothing short of exceptional; her ability to convey the raw emotion and mounting tension perfectly complements Blaedel's intricate plot. Each character has a distinct voice that makes them feel real, even in the most fantastical scenarios. The pacing is superb, keeping the listener on edge as Louise Rick closes in on her quarry, only to find herself increasingly trapped by her own past. However, some of the subplots drag slightly, slowing the momentum. Still, this audiobook remains a compelling listen that will keep you up late trying to solve the mystery yourself.
