The Lady Chosen

As a long-time fan of Stephanie Laurens, I was thrilled to dive into 'The Lady Chosen.' Laurens' signature style is on full display here, with a heroine who's equal parts fiery and vulnerable, and a hero whose rugged exterior belies a heart of gold. Jill Tanner's narration is a perfect match for this story, capturing the essence of Regency-era England while bringing a modern sensibility to the characters' emotions. The pacing is spot-on, with a balance of dialogue, action, and swoon-worthy moments that kept me hooked. My only critique is that I wish Laurens had delved a bit deeper into the societal issues of the time, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent listen.
