As an audiobook listener, I was immediately drawn into 'The Maiden & the Unseen' by its unique premise and engaging narration. Nikki Grey's performance is a real treat, bringing a rich, sultry voice to Emma and a deep, resonant tone to Hades, making their chemistry palpable even when they're at odds. Rune's writing is clever and engaging, with a great balance of humor and heartache. The pacing is steady, with a good mix of action, dialogue, and introspection. However, I found some of the world-building around the gods' powers and rules a bit confusing at times, and I wish there had been more exploration of the consequences of the gods' presence in the modern world.
