Hadleigh isn’t a simpering heroine waiting for redemption; she’s a woman who’s built a life *without* Tripp, and her skepticism toward his reappearance feels authentic. That said, the first act drags slightly with overly detailed setup (do we *really* need three scenes of her reorganizing the hardware store?), but once the present-day conflict kicks in, the pacing tightens into a satisfying slow burn. Jack Garrett’s performance is a masterclass in restraint. He doesn’t overplay Tripp’s cowboy swagger, instead letting the character’s quiet intensity shine—especially in the scenes where his guilt bubbles just beneath the surface. The chemistry between the leads sizzles, but what surprised me most was the secondary romance involving Hadleigh’s best friend, which adds depth without stealing focus. My one gripe? The audio production occasionally drowns out softer dialogue under the soundtrack (a minor but noticeable issue in car playback). Still, this is a Western romance with teeth—less about sunsets and stetsons, more about the grit it takes to trust again.
