Boyd’s pacing is flawless—she lets the humor land without overplaying it, and her ability to differentiate between the snide whispers of the ton and the more heartfelt moments is downright impressive. That said, the production occasionally trips over itself with abrupt cuts between scenes, as if the editor was racing against a deadline. The chemistry between Georgiana and her love interest, Lord Harwick, is palpable in Boyd’s hands, though their dynamic could’ve used a touch more friction earlier on to avoid feeling like the inevitable romance was too neatly packaged from the start. Still, by the final act, even the most cynical listener will be rooting for these two, thanks in large part to Boyd’s ability to make their emotional beats resonate.
