The Missing Man (A Morton Farrier Novella)

I devoured The Missing Man in a single, enthralled sitting. Ian Pringle's voice is a perfect match for Morton Farrier's introspective, dogged personality, and he brings a sense of quiet urgency to the narrative. The pacing is well-judged, with a steady build of tension that culminates in a satisfying payoff. My only quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit underdeveloped, and at times the narrative relies a tad too heavily on convenient coincidences. Still, these are minor complaints in an otherwise superb audiobook that will keep historical mystery fans on the edge of their seats. The production quality is top-notch, with clear, well-balanced sound that makes for a seamless listening experience.
