His voice alone sold me on the hero’s infuriating charm; there’s a growl in his delivery that makes even the most toxic behavior sound magnetic. The real star, though, is the heroine’s voice, brought to life by CJ Bloom with razor-sharp wit. She doesn’t just match Clarke’s intensity—she outmaneuvers it, and that push-pull is *electric*. The story’s strength lies in its refusal to give either character an easy out. The hero’s rage feels earned, not cartoonish, and the heroine’s resilience never wavers, even when she should walk away. My biggest critique? Some side characters blur into the background, and the resolution wraps up just a tad too neatly for my taste. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise immersive experience.
