The contrast between their voices is so sharp it’s almost a cheat code for comedic timing, and King leans into it without ever resorting to caricature. My favorite moment? A scene where Charlotte talks Mitch down from a yelling fit over a misplaced truffle—King’s exhausted exhale mid-sentence sells the absurdity without undercutting the tension. That said, the romance’s resolution felt a little too tidy for my taste; the chemistry was so electric I wanted a few more pages of Mitch backpedaling or Charlotte admitting she’s human. Also, the production occasionally slips into tinny audio during Mitch’s louder moments, which is jarring when you’re mid-laugh.
