Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As someone who has always been fascinated by stories of immigration and the pursuit of a better life, I found The Orphan's Island by Kate Hewitt to be an utterly captivating listen. Eilidh Beaton's narration was nothing short of exceptional, with her ability to convey the emotions and experiences of the characters with such depth and sincerity. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the world of young Ellen Copley and her search for her missing father. The pacing of the story was well-balanced, allowing for moments of tension and suspense to be effectively woven in amongst the heartwarming and uplifting scenes. While I did feel that some of the secondary characters could have been further developed, the central relationship between Ellen and her father proved to be both heartrending and heartening. Overall, this audiobook is a must-listen for fans of historical fiction, and Eilidh Beaton's outstanding performance only adds to the listening experience.
