AudioBook Atlas

As someone who enjoys a good mystery with a dash of the supernatural, I was drawn to The Rook by Daniel O'Malley. Narrated by Katy Carmichael, she does an excellent job of conveying the complex emotions of Myfanwy Thomas as she navigates her newfound abilities and the world of the Chequy. Carmichael's voice is clear and engaging, perfectly capturing the sharp wit and intelligence of the protagonist. The pacing of the audiobook is well-done, with moments of intense action and suspense, punctuated by moments of humor and reflection. However, I did find some of the more technical explanations of the Chequy's organization and the agents' abilities to be a bit confusing. Despite this, The Rook remains an enjoyable and entertaining listen that I would recommend to fans of the genre.
