I went into *The Scorecard* expecting a light, fluffy rom-com—and I absolutely got that, but with an unexpected depth that made it linger longer than a post-game press conference. Daniela Acitelli and Alex Kydd’s narration is a dynamic duo, each bringing their A-game to the banter and emotional beats. Acitelli nails the protagonist’s sharp, no-BS energy, while Kydd’s smooth, slightly smug delivery as the hockey-playboy-turned-husband is pure charisma. The production quality is top-notch, with clear pacing and just the right amount of ambient sound to immerse you in the story without distraction. That said, the plot does rely on a few too-convenient twists—like a conveniently timed injury or a conveniently timed revelation—that stretch believability just a hair too thin. And while the steam is hot, a few scenes could’ve used a bit more buildup to avoid feeling rushed. Still, Moore’s razor-sharp writing and the narrators’ chemistry make this a standout in the genre. If you’re here for witty repartee and a romance that’s equal parts push-and-pull and pull-and-hold-on-tight, this audiobook delivers.
