Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I've always been a fan of Machen's work, but listening to 'The Three Impostors and Other Weird Tales' narrated by Ian Gordon was a truly immersive experience. Gordon's performance is nothing short of exceptional, his voice perfectly capturing the eerie atmosphere of each story. He masterfully handles Machen's sometimes complex sentences, making even the most intricate passages easy to follow. The pacing is spot on, building tension and suspense with a skillful understanding of each story's unique rhythm. My only critique is that at times, the production could benefit from a bit more ambient sound to enhance the already vivid imagery. But this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. If you're a fan of horror that's more about atmosphere and unease than jump scares, this is a must-listen.
