That said, the production occasionally stumbles with abrupt transitions between theory and anecdotes, which jolts the listener out of Toyota’s rhythm. I also wish Liker spent more time on the emotional labor of leading Lean—how do you stay patient when teams resist change for years? Still, the sheer depth of examples (from supply chain disasters to employee-led innovations) makes this more practical than most business books. If you’re serious about Lean beyond buzzwords, this is your audiobook. I finished it with a notebook full of takeaways and a new checklist for my own team.
