The Traitor Queen

I was hooked from the very first sentence, and 'The Traitor Queen' kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The story is a masterclass in tension, with Jensen expertly weaving a web of political intrigue and high-stakes action that had me biting my nails. The pacing is perfect, with just the right balance of dialogue, exposition, and action to keep things moving at a clip. While I did find some of the secondary characters a bit one-dimensional, it's a small critique in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. The narration is truly what elevates this story, though. Fortgang and Cronin have a chemistry that's palpable, and their ability to bring Jensen's complex characters to life is nothing short of remarkable. They also do an excellent job of distinguishing between characters, making it easy to follow along even as the story shifts between multiple perspectives. If you're a fan of action-packed fantasy with a healthy dose of romance, 'The Traitor Queen' is a must-listen. Just be prepared to clear your schedule, because once you start, you won't want to stop.
