I approached 'The True Christian' expecting a dry, historical read, but was pleasantly surprised. Ryle's writing is engaging, even passionate, and Heath's narration brings this to the fore. He masterfully navigates Ryle's shifts from fiery exhortation to tender encouragement, his pacing and emphasis highlighting the author's heart for his listeners. The production is simple, letting Ryle's words take center stage. My only critique is that Heath's pace can feel a tad rushed in places, but this is a minor quibble. Overall, this audiobook is a compelling, convicting listen that will challenge and encourage Christians alike.
