I was immediately drawn into Emma's world, thanks to Gaunt's exceptional narration. Her ability to convey Emma's wit, exasperation, and warmth made me feel like I was right there with her, navigating the peculiarities of St. Crispian's. However, I did find some of the secondary characters' eccentricities a tad over-the-top at times, but it's a small price to pay for such an entertaining listen.
