That said, the second act drags slightly when the central misunderstanding stretches believability. A few more scenes exploring Hadley’s life outside Nebraska could’ve deepened her internal conflict. Still, the audiobook’s strength lies in its authenticity—the way it captures the claustrophobia of family events, the humor in awkward small talk, and the quiet ache of wanting to be seen for who you’ve become. Navarro’s flawless comic timing makes the dialogue pop, and the production is crisp, with no distracting background noise.
