The White House

As an editor, I devoured 'The White House' in its audiobook form, and I was struck by how effectively Bobby Spears's narration captured the novel's dark, pulsating energy. His measured cadence and ability to convey the complex emotions of the characters had me fully invested in the story from the very start. The author's bold portrayal of a morally ambiguous world is both thrilling and thought-provoking, and I found myself grappling with the motivations of the protagonist and the motivations behind the heist. However, at times the supporting cast felt somewhat one-dimensional, and I would have liked to have delved deeper into their backstories. Overall, though, Coleman's writing and Spears's narration created a compelling and unputdownable listening experience.
