The Wolves of Mars

As someone who's always found Roman history fascinating but daunting, 'The Wolves of Mars' was a revelation. Bartley's narration is a joy, his deep, resonant voice perfectly suited to the grandeur of the subject matter. He imbues even the most factual passages with a sense of drama, making it feel like you're listening to a podcast narrated by a history professor with a flair for the theatrical. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on women's roles, often overlooked in traditional histories. If I have one critique, it's that the pacing can feel a tad slow in places, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent production.
