Zucchino's attention to detail is astonishing; you'll feel the heat of Baghdad, taste the dust, and hear the distant thunder of explosions. The pacing is relentless, like a ticking clock counting down to each battle's inevitable climax. However, the sheer volume of characters can be overwhelming at times, and some threads feel underdeveloped. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise outstanding audio experience that offers a raw, unvarnished look at war.
