About This Audiobook

Radclyffe’s *Turn Back Time* isn’t just a love story—it’s a high-stakes gamble with the one thing money can’t buy: second chances. When a ruthless tech heiress stumbles into a time-traveling phone booth (yes, really), she collides with a tenacious archivist who’s spent years chasing the same glitch in history. Their chemistry is combustible, but their goals are diametrically opposed, and the clock is ticking. This isn’t your grandma’s romance; it’s a razor-sharp blend of sci-fi intrigue, queer longing, and the kind of emotional gut-punches that linger long after the credits roll. If you crave stories where love and danger aren’t just bedfellows but partners in crime, this audiobook delivers the goods with a side of vintage charm and neon-edge tension.

Nicole Vilencia doesn’t just narrate this story—she *hauls it onto the page* with a performance that crackles like a live wire. Her pitch-perfect delivery shifts effortlessly between the heroine’s icy ruthlessness and the heroine’s raw vulnerability, grounding the absurd premise in something achingly human. The production team deserves a shout-out too; the sound design subtly underscores the story’s dualities—warm nostalgia one moment, electric urgency the next—without ever stealing the spotlight from the razor-edged dialogue. It’s a risky audiobook bet that pays off in spades, especially for listeners who want their romance with teeth and a side of ‘what if?’

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I went into *Turn Back Time* expecting a guilty pleasure, but Radclyffe and Vilencia turned it into an addiction. Vilencia’s narration is the secret weapon here: her delivery of our archivist’s exasperated quips is pure comedy gold, but she also nails the heartbreak simmering beneath the heroine’s tough-girl exterior. The chemistry between the leads is off the charts—imagine if *The Time Traveler’s Wife* was written by a queer romance novelist who also knows how to write a villain you’d happily ruin a friendship for. That said, the time-travel mechanics are a little *too* hand-waved for my taste. The rules feel arbitrary at times, and Radclyffe leans hard into the ‘destiny vs. free will’ trope without always earning the emotional payoff. The audiobook’s 10-hour runtime also means a few lulls where the plot feels more like a slow burn than a wildfire. But if you can overlook the occasional contrivance, the payoff—a romance that’s equal parts tender and explosive, wrapped in a mystery that demands your attention—is worth every minute. Vilencia’s performance alone earns this a place in your permanent rotation.
