About This Audiobook

Two Wrongs by Kimberly Carrillo is a masterclass in forced proximity with a razor-sharp bite. The story follows Wren, a woman who’s spent years knowing exactly how much Ben, her fiancé’s father, despises her—because he’s made sure she knows it. When a snowstorm traps them together in a remote cabin, Ben’s icy disdain warms into something far more dangerous: reluctant attraction. Carrillo crafts a slow-burn romance where every heated glance and biting remark feels earned, not manufactured. The tension isn’t just sexual—it’s existential, as Wren grapples with her own unresolved wounds while navigating Ben’s mercurial shifts between hostility and hunger. If you love your romances with the bite of a well-honed knife and the heat of a simmering pot, this’ll hit the spot.

The audiobook elevates the material with Jameson Adams and Samantha Summers at the helm. Adams delivers Ben’s gruff, guarded exterior with a gravelly intensity that crackles through the headphones, his performance making every growled ‘no’ feel like a challenge. Summers, meanwhile, infuses Wren with a quiet steeliness that keeps her from being overshadowed by her infuriating opponent. The dual narration balances their chemistry, though some listeners might wish the production leaned harder into the cabin’s isolating atmosphere—it’s a missed opportunity to amplify the claustrophobic dread that could’ve made the payoff even sweeter.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I’ll admit, I was skeptical when I started Two Wrongs. A billionaire romance where the ‘hero’ is outright hostile? Usually, that’s a red flag. But Carrillo’s novel won me over with its unapologetic messiness and the kind of emotional brutality that feels real. The slow unwinding of Ben’s character—from a man who’d sooner set Wren on fire than share a meal with her to someone who can’t look away—is the kind of transformation that makes a romance addict’s heart race. Adams’ narration sells Ben’s journey perfectly; his voice drips with the kind of controlled anger that makes you believe he’s genuinely struggling against himself. Summers, too, deserves kudos for keeping Wren’s resilience front and center without overplaying the martyrdom. That said, the audiobook isn’t without its quirks. The cabin setting, which should feel like a pressure cooker, sometimes lacks the immersive dread you’d expect—too much dialogue in neutral spaces dulls the edge. And while the chemistry between Wren and Ben is electric, their backstory’s resolution leans a little too convenient for my taste. Still, the payoff in the final act had me audibly gasping, and the unresolved threads left me hungry for more. If you’re here for romance that feels like a fight—literal or otherwise—this’ll scratch that itch.
