Wallace sells it too; his delivery shifts seamlessly between gentle persuasion and sharp confrontation, making even the most uncomfortable truths feel like they’re being whispered directly into your ear. That said, the audiobook isn’t without its quirks. The production is clean, but Wallace’s narration occasionally veers into a monotone when Townsend delves into more abstract concepts, which can make it feel like white noise after a while. And while Townsend’s real-life anecdotes are compelling, there’s a point in the middle where the book risks becoming a bit *too* introspective—like listening to someone unpack their entire emotional history in real time. Still, these are minor gripes. By the time Wallace delivers the closing chapter, you’ll either be ready to burn your old scripts or at least question why you ever followed them in the first place.
