About This Audiobook

In a field often characterized by tech jargon and fear-mongering, George Finney's Well Aware stands out for its refreshingly human-centered approach to cybersecurity. This isn't a dry, technical guide but a nuanced exploration of the leadership challenges that make businesses vulnerable to hacking. Finney's argument that cybersecurity is ultimately a people problem rather than a technology problem is both timely and compelling. Through engaging storytelling and relatable anecdotes, Finney makes the complex world of cybersecurity accessible to non-experts. And Brett Barry's narration is a perfect complement to this approach, injecting warmth and authority into the listening experience without ever becoming overly emotive.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to Well Aware, I found myself struck by Finney's ability to distill complex concepts into actionable advice. His leadership model, which emphasizes education and awareness as key drivers of cybersecurity success, is particularly insightful. And yet, despite the book's many strengths, I couldn't shake the feeling that certain sections felt a tad disconnected from the rest of the narrative. Perhaps it's a symptom of the book's focus on case studies and real-world examples, but at times I found myself struggling to see how these standalone stories contributed to the broader argument. Nevertheless, this is a minor quibble in what is otherwise a compelling and thought-provoking listen.
