That said, I did find myself wishing for more emotional depth in places. Some essays, like the one about his father’s decline, felt slightly underbaked compared to his usual razor-sharp humor, leaving me craving something more poignant. The production is clean, with no distracting background noise, and Sedaris’ pacing is impeccable—he knows exactly when to linger for a laugh and when to move on before it wears thin. If you’re a fan of sharp observational comedy or just love audiobooks where the narrator’s voice feels like a natural extension of the writing, this one’s a must-listen. My only gripe?
