Who Killed Camilla?

I’ll admit, I was skeptical when the first chapter dropped me into a wedding reception where the bride was already a corpse—literally. But Darcy’s world-building is so immersive that by the third act, I was mentally drafting the wedding guest seating chart just to keep track of who hated Camilla enough to kill her. Stephanie Daniel’s performance deserves major credit; her portrayal of Camilla’s snobby mother alone is worth the listen—the way she delivers lines like, *“Darling, if you’re going to marry a washed-up has-been, at least do it somewhere with better WiFi,”* had me cackling even as the body count rose. That said, the audiobook isn’t flawless. The sheer number of suspects (and Camilla’s equally numerous grudges) occasionally feels overstuffed, straining believability. And while Daniel nails the upper-crust Hollywood affectations, some of the male characters’ voices blur together in the later chapters, making it harder to keep track of who’s who in the final reveal. Still, the payoff—a denouement that ties together Camilla’s past scandals with the present murder—is satisfying enough to overlook the occasional narrative bloat. If you love mysteries where the real mystery is figuring out who could *actually* stand Camilla, this is your audiobook.
