I went into *A Vampire Possessed* expecting a light fluff read, but L.E. Wilson delivered something far more compelling—a romance that’s equal parts sexy, snarky, and surprisingly thoughtful. The chemistry between Grace and her vampire ally, Nikolas, crackles off the page (or, in this case, from your headphones). Johns’ narration elevates the experience even further; his delivery of Grace’s internal monologues—full of self-deprecating humor and genuine vulnerability—made me laugh out loud, while his portrayal of Nikolas’ brooding intensity sent a shiver down my spine. The audiobook’s production is top-notch, with no muffled lines or awkward pauses to pull you out of the story. That said, this isn’t a perfect audiobook. The pacing drags in the middle act when the story pivots to more introspective territory, leaving me craving action over exposition. And while the world-building is inventive, a few key mythos details—like how Grace’s magic *actually* works—feel glossed over, which occasionally pulled me out of the immersion. Still, these hiccups are minor in a tale that’s otherwise so engrossing. By the final chapter, I was genuinely invested in Grace’s growth and Nikolas’ redemption arc.
