And while Grove’s strength is snappy banter, some emotional beats land with a thud—Virtual Voice’s limited range can’t salvage a few monologues that veer into melodrama. Still, there’s a charm to the chaos. The third story, *Wolf’s Holiday Howl*, is the standout, balancing steam with genuine holiday warmth (and a meet-cute involving a reindeer stampede—yes, really). The audiobook’s length lets the world breathe, even if not every thread needs its own hour. If you’re a paranormal-romance vet, you’ll spot the tropes from a mile away, but the execution is self-aware enough to feel fresh. Just don’t listen on 1.5x speed—Virtual Voice’s cadence turns *uncanny* at higher speeds, and not in a fun way.
