As an audiobook editor, I devoured 'Altamont' in a single sitting, and I'm still reeling from the experience. John Pruden's narration is nothing short of superb, conveying the gravitas and urgency of Selvin's narrative with ease. His ability to distinguish between various speakers and accents is impressive, immersing listeners in the world of the story. What I appreciate most about 'Altamont' is Selvin's willingness to confront the darker aspects of the 1960s counterculture. He sheds light on the tensions between the Hells Angels and the concertgoers, as well as the larger social and cultural forces that led to the Altamont disaster.
