About This Audiobook

In 'An Architecture Manifesto', Nadir Lahiji boldly argues that architecture has lost its way, straying into aestheticism without the guiding light of architectonic reason. Lahiji's passionate argument is a clarion call for architects and enthusiasts alike, urging a return to fundamentals. Simon Shepherd's narration brings Lahiji's impassioned prose to life, his measured tone lending gravity to the manifesto's provocative claims. Distinctive in its unapologetic stance and Shepherd's authoritative delivery, this audiobook is a compelling listen for anyone interested in the philosophical underpinnings of architecture.

Editor's Review

AudioBook Atlas

As an architecture buff, I found 'An Architecture Manifesto' to be a refreshing and thought-provoking listen. Lahiji's argument is persuasive, and Shepherd's narration is excellent, his deep, resonant voice perfectly suited to the manifesto's serious tone. I appreciated Lahiji's concrete examples and historical context, which made the argument feel grounded and well-researched. However, I found some of Lahiji's generalizations about contemporary architecture to be a bit too broad. Also, while I understand the need for a strong argument, I sometimes wished for a bit more nuance in Lahiji's positions. Nevertheless, this is a compelling listen that has given me a lot to think about. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the philosophy of architecture.
