Jocelyn Duford’s performance is the real star here—she sells Ell’s duality as a genius and an athlete with a few well-placed vocal inflections. When Ell’s describing quantum physics mid-sprint, Duford’s tone stays focused and precise, but when she’s dodging bullets or grappling with moral dilemmas, her voice crackles with urgency. The audiobook’s production is notably clean, too; the sound mixing is so sharp I could practically feel the impact of Ell’s enhanced senses. That said, the story stumbles slightly in its middle act. The corporate conspiracy angle feels a bit convoluted, and the villain’s motives teeter between compelling and cartoonish at times. Still, the payoff in the final third—where biology and destiny collide—makes up for it. Pacing is another standout. The book doesn’t waste time on filler, but it’s not so lean that it sacrifices world-building. The world of genetic engineering feels lived-in, with just enough technical detail to ground the wildest ideas. If you’ve ever wished you could absorb knowledge like Neo in *The Matrix* or outmaneuver opponents with reflexes like Neo in *The Matrix*, this is your fix. The only real misstep is the romance subplot, which feels tacked on and underdeveloped—like the author knew readers would demand a heartstring tug but didn’t commit to it. Minor quibble, though. Overall, *Antigravity* is a high-octane, thought-provoking ride that lingers long after the last chapter.
