Black Mouth

As a fan of atmospheric horror, I found Black Mouth to be a gripping and unsettling listen. Joe Hempel's narration is exceptional, his ability to convey the characters' growing unease and fear is nothing short of masterful. The story is a slow burn, but it's a rewarding one, with Malfi's rich descriptions of the town and its eerie history drawing you in. The pacing is deliberate, building tension until it's almost unbearable, then releasing it in sudden, shocking moments that had me jumping. My only critique is that some of the characters' motivations could have been clearer, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook. If you're looking for a horror story that'll stay with you long after you've finished listening, Black Mouth is a must-listen.
