Ross Patterson's narration is the star of the show here. As Saint James, he's got a voice like gravel crunching under boots, dry and engaging, perfectly suited to the no-nonsense hero. The production is simple but effective, letting the story and performances take center stage. The pacing is spot-on, balancing action sequences with quieter moments of character development. My only critique is that some of the supporting characters could use more distinction in their voices, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent audiobook. If you're looking for a Western that's equal parts thrilling and funny, with a hero who's anything but your typical cowboy, At Night She Cries, While He Rides His Steed is the audiobook for you.
