Lucy Rivers’ performance is *electric*—she nails the heroine’s mix of vulnerability and steel, especially in scenes where her past trauma bleeds into the present. Corvin King, meanwhile, turns Tiernan into a hypnotic contradiction: his voice is velvet wrapped around a blade, equally capable of purring endearments or snarling threats. The contrast keeps you off-balance in the best way. That said, this isn’t a flawless listen. The mid-act suspense drags slightly, with a subplot involving secondary characters that feels like wheel-spinning compared to the white-hot central dynamic. And while the steam level is high (expect *plenty* of explicit content), some of the power-play scenes toe the line of plausibility—even for a story this unapologetically over-the-top.
