The pacing is *brutal* in the best way—like a heist movie where the crew is also trying to solve a millennia-old murder mystery. Reynolds’ performance elevates it further; his delivery of the banter between Gray and his team makes their camaraderie feel earned, not forced. That said, this isn’t a flawless gem. The villain’s motives, while intriguing, occasionally get lost in the shuffle of *so many moving parts*—I found myself rewinding a few times to track who was double-crossing whom. And while the action is visceral, some of the elemental magic’s rules feel… flexible, bending to plot convenience in a way that pulled me out of the moment. But these are quibbles.
