As a self-proclaimed addict of romantic suspense, I went into Beautiful Carnage with high expectations, and Caroline Peckham delivered in spades. The way she weaves together the intricate threads of Sloan's past with the tantalizing promise of forbidden love is nothing short of masterful. Bridget and Jake's narration is, without a doubt, one of the highlights of this audiobook – their banter is witty, their emotions are raw, and their chemistry is undeniable. If I have one criticism, it's that the supporting cast feels a tad underdeveloped at times, but this is a minor quibble in what is otherwise a masterfully crafted tale of love, loyalty, and revenge.
