I devoured Best Laid Plans in a single listen, and I'm not ashamed to admit it was mostly for the narration. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are a dream team, bringing Emma and Gabe to life with such distinct personalities that I felt like I was eavesdropping on my best friends' disastrous love lives. Arden's Gabe is so smug and self-assured, you can't help but love to hate him, while Mallon's Emma is a relatable Everywoman, stumbling through her seduction lessons with a mix of humor and cringe that had me laughing out loud. The pacing is perfect, balancing witty banter and steamy moments with just the right amount of heart. My only critique? I wish there was more of Gabe's backstory to truly understand his motivations. But even with that, Best Laid Plans is a must-listen for anyone who loves a good romantic comedy with a twist.
