That’s the kind of granular, consequence-driven storytelling that makes this audiobook feel urgent, even decades after some of these events. Bridges’ narration is the perfect match: his voice is steady, almost professorial, but with a dry undercurrent that signals *this is important*. He doesn’t overperform the dramatic beats (like the near-failure of Apollo 8’s engine burn), trusting Volcroft’s writing to land the weight. My only critique?
