Bitter Roots

As a listener, I was immediately drawn into the world of Montgomery Vineyards, where the scent of rain and the crunch of gravel underfoot are almost palpable. Marshall's narration is a standout feature of this audiobook. She masterfully captures Lucie's strength and vulnerability, making her a character you can't help but root for. The pacing is excellent, with tension building steadily like a storm on the horizon. Crosby's writing is sharp and engaging, with a twisty plot that had me guessing until the very end. My only critique is that some of the secondary characters could have been more fully developed, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent listen. Overall, Bitter Roots is a captivating mystery that's perfect for fans of Tana French and Louise Penny.
