I was thoroughly engrossed in Carter Reed from start to finish, thanks in large part to Lucy Rivers' captivating narration. Her ability to convey the emotional depth of the characters, particularly Emma, added a layer of complexity to the story that might have been lost in a print version. The pacing of the audiobook was well-balanced, with a steady stream of suspenseful moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. One of the things that impressed me most was the way the story tackled difficult themes without shying away from the harsh realities.
