About This Audiobook

Chasing the Dead is a gripping debut that breathes new life into the missing persons genre. Tim Weaver's David Raker is no ordinary investigator; he's a man haunted by his own past, giving his cases a personal edge that's both compelling and unsettling. The story unfolds in a satisfyingly slow burn, with Weaver's intricate plotting and taut prose keeping you guessing until the very end. What truly sets this audiobook apart is its narration. Lee Ingleby and Joe Coen deliver a masterclass in character distinction, seamlessly switching between Raker's world-weary growl and the voices of the lost souls he's determined to find.

Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

I was hooked from the first chapter, drawn into Raker's dark world and the chilling case of Alex Towne. The narration is outstanding, with Ingleby and Coen bringing a depth of emotion and nuance to each character that's rarely heard in audiobooks. The pacing is flawless, building tension with each revelation until the story reaches its heart-pounding climax. However, I must admit, the ending felt a tad rushed, leaving me craving more resolution. But that's a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent listening experience. If you're a fan of complex characters, intricate plots, and chilling suspense, Chasing the Dead is a must-listen.
